While the work of Active Authenticity is all about YOU, it can be helpful to know what’s behind the concepts and tools I share. But before I go into the formal “stuff” of what I do, you should know it really all began with a scrappy kid keenly interested in what made other humans tick.
Woven through my intellectual and spiritual development was a constant and insatiable curiosity about the human experience.
And now, after 25 years as a psychotherapist in private practice - and many more conducting research in places such as Siberia and the Peruvian Amazon - I’ve decided to take the knowledge and wisdoms I’ve gained over the years and knit them into a cohesive course of study for women.
Active Authenticity is a system that addresses both internal and external wellbeing; it’s a set of concepts and skills, as well as an approach to life.
In my work there have always been two directions:
Clinical:
The first path I’ve walked is my twenty five years as a licensed psychotherapist in the State of Washington. I’ve specialized in:
both brief and deep models of therapeutic engagement
brain science and interpersonal neurobiology
an integrative-medicine orientation and practice
clinical work and teaching
Experiential:
The second path has been my life-long curiosity with and investigation of wisdom traditions across cultures:
on-going studies of traditional wisdoms and their application to wellness and human performance
multi-cultural models of engagement and healing
continuing research, both field and clinical
and finally, deep studies in the energetic exchanges that allow me to see my clients for who they really are, and to work with them where they really are.
